Based in the Nelson Mandela Bay in RSA, PROJECT INMATE is an non-profit organization whose focus area is to address the roots of gender based violence and poverty in all its forms; the challenges these impose and works as a measure of effective assistance in ensuring that offenders in their three forms (potential-current-former) do not pose further threat to the victims of their offences; that they become better people, at the point of their preparation and reintegration back to society.
Our OBJECTIVES are to eradicate:
Gender Based Violence through rehabilitation, reintegration, restorative justice, second chances and wellness of inmates - with the mindset that inmates are not only the men and women behind bars - but those who live in entrapment of various kinds.
Poverty through the changing of the life status of all who are adversely affected by poverty and who live below the bread line. Poverty and its effective addressing is one of our primary focus points, as we have identified it as a key contributory factor to the dehumanization of those who live in the underprivileged spaces of life.In line with the United Nations 2030 AGENDA on Sustainable Development Goals - we prioritize on Women, Peace & Security driven (inclusive of children) Goals:
